Just pre-ordered
The new Bulma figure by Megahouse. They have done some Queen’s Blade toys in the past and always do an excellent job. If you really like this gal figure you can pre-order one for yourself on AmiAmi
Vanity Fair write up on Peanuts
Excellent write up by Vanity Fair.
Charles Schulz understood human suffering in a way that cut straight to the heart of how you felt. He understood loneliness and failure most of all. Peanuts is a way for us to stand up to these feelings and laugh at them, and in turn make them a little easier to bear with.
Once upon a time
There was a figurine company, CM’s corporation, that specialized in a very specific type and style of toys. Their Guttu Kuru line featured extremely large, detailed and poseable figures. Multiple faces, weapons, removable clothing and a very hefty price tag, were among the features. Last year this company went bankrupt and all the stuff that was in production then, just vanished. Along with them were these awesome Kei and Yuri figures. I was keeping a sharp eye for a release date, when I realized the company had been liquidated. Sadly I don;t think these will ever grace my 80’s Dirty Pair collection. I was wiling to shell out whatever it took to get them. Really a shame, I love the way they look.
More retro anime collecting
To go with my previous laser disk post, during the release of the Dirty Pair: Project Eden, movie a bunch of merchandise came out, including a really awful game for the Japanese Famicom Disk system. I managed to get this a while back for 12$ i think it was… And while it is not in MINT condition, it’s pretty cool to own and see. These sorts of things are like a time portal to me, just having them and looking at them brings me back to a time I never got to experience, and a fanbase and animation style I wish I had been able to be into. Also the game came with some cool Kei and Yuri stickers and badass cover art…
